Frame FAQ

What are your frames made of?

ALL of our frames are built with REAL glass and REAL mat board and a solid construction that brings our customers back year after year to buy certificate frames. No paper mats, no flimsy plastic fronts. Our unique combination of materials and construction achieve a quality presentation at an affordable price.

Using frame-shop quality mat board from major mat board suppliers such as Bainbridge and Crescent, our foil accents are added using traditional hot foil stamp methods and die cutting to create our unique mat details that make our products the perfect award frame. Your frame will arrive individually boxed and ready for your 8 1/2 x 11 or 8 x 10 certificate. Nothing to assemble. You just load your certificate.

We do offer an option for plexi front. Minimum quantites may apply. Inquire by email. (link to contact page)

How are your frames constructed?
Our top selling Icon frame is shown above with its unique metal finish mylar wrap. Built as a shadowbox, the dimensional presentation and full glass front not only defines our unique frame construction, but also protects the glass from breaking in shipment. Assembled
with our standard glass, shadowbox mat and back, you will be very surprised at the dimensional look and heavy feel of this frame.

How do your certificate frames hang?
The door backs come with pre-installed hanging hardware and can hang horizontally or vertically.

How do you load a certificate?
No is assembly required for any of our frames. Mat window opening for an 8 1/2 x 11 certificate is 10 14 x 7 3/4 representing a 1/4 certificate margin with slight reveal created by the shadowbox space. By loading your certificate properly, the certificate will be shadowboxed and dimensionally presented in each frame we sell. Your certificate should sit at the back of the frame held in by the white shelf. Please review the pictorial below to confirm you have loaded your certificates properly. The certificate should not touch the glass. Each back is dedicated to hold an 8 1/2 x 11 certificate. 8 x 10 is available in some colors. Note: in order for the 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper to be matted and shadowboxed the mat will overlap the certificate edge by approx 1/4 inch on all sides. Any graphics within 1/4 inch from the edge may be covered slightly by the mat. Please note: currently we do not offer frames that take an 11 x 14 certificate. You may special order a frame for any size document. Minimum qty 100. Using acid-free tape can reinforce the position of the certificate.

YES- the certificate should sit on the white shelf edge.

NO- you do not press it down inside the shelf and cram the certificate inot the space against the glass.

NO- Certificate does not sit inside the spacer shelf, at the glass.
It will not fit there. If it did then it would not be a shadowbox. Certificate does not sit at glass. If there is any question about how the certificate fits in the frame or the easiest way to load your certificate please watch the video demo.

How does the certificate stay in place?

The certificate sits on the shadowbox shelf, held in place by the pressure the doorback puts on the certificate when it closes. If you are concerned your certificate will slip in the frame, we recommend using double sided acid-free tape to secure the certificate to the frame door back. Please note, you can attach the certificate to the frame door back, not the shadowbox spacer.
